Artist's Comments: A small golf part path at Hualalai leads visitors to the shoreline and the Beach House restaurant. The path is lushly landscaped with lots of wonderful shadows and opens to the sun-kissed shoreline. The contrast between light and dark captivated me while this iconic view conjures thoughts of the signature Beach House lemonade served in over-sized hand-blown martini glasses. After completing the piece, this painting caught the eye of a friend who told me that it reminded her of her journey with breast cancer. The gateway of light symbolized for her her emergence from darkness and pain leading her to happier times ahead.
