Artist's Comments: Wonderful friends of mine asked me to paint them a piece that would remind them of the beautiful view overlooking the 5th fairway. They mentioned that it wasn't the golf course itself that they loved but, the palm trees, lake and ocean beyond that they were particularity fond of. As I meandered through the home, the view from the master bedroom caught my eye and the composition was perfect! There was a nice balance between all the elements with the palm trees taking prominence. By now, I was confident in my technique in painting a golf course and enjoyed layering on heavier paint in areas to create stronger highlights. I had a little difficulty in making the lake set down below the golf course but found that darkening the end of the lake provided the perspective I needed. I am happy with the sense of looking up into the trees as they reach into the sky; leaves gently rustling in the soft breeze. What a beautiful setting to wake up to each morning!
